Faux Stained Glass Art Workshop

Join us at the Ogden Nature Center to create a faux stained-glass masterpiece! Choose one of 3 pre-made designs at the time of registration, then local artist Olivia Roundy will walk you through how to make it truly yours in this workshop.
Don't know what faux stained-glass is? Just take a peek at the Visitor Center and Education Building windows at the nature center! Not only are these artworks adorable (many made by 3rd graders from Greenwood Charter) but they help wildlife! Having something in the window reduces bird strikes by limiting the reflections that confuse birds. It's truly the intersection of art, nature, and science!

Basket Weaving with Connie Denton

Join Connie Denton in a 6 hour class that will teach you to make a woven pine needle basket from beginning to end. You’ll learn how to make a basket from long-leaf pine needles, using Irish waxed linen, an assortment of beads and other embellishments, and starting with a stone center. Topics covered include how to make your stitches stack up on one another, types of pine needles you can use, pine needle preparation, different types of basket centers, embellishing your basket, and how to start and finish your basket.
Connie Denton is a master basket weaver who has been making baskets and teaching this craft to others for 25 years. In addition to making traditional baskets and pine needle baskets, she is also interested in and active in weaving, natural dyeing, and punch needle rug making.
