About Us
Bridget Barkema
Bridget joined the Ogden Nature Center in the summer of 2025 as an Naturalist Educator. As a life-long Ogden resident, Bridget has always enjoyed spending time outdoors and around animals - making the Nature Center a perfect fit for her.
Most recently, Bridget volunteered as a CARES Community Scientist with HawkWatch International. The CARES program (Cavity Adopting Raptor Ecology Study) allowed her the opportunity to monitor 6 local nest boxes, for American Kestrels, Western Screech-owls, and more across the diverse landscape of the Wasatch Front.
She is extremely passionate about protecting the environment and supporting the Ogden Nature Center’s conservation efforts. Bridget is also a huge animal lover and is excited to get to work with all of the animals here.
When she’s not at work, she enjoys spending time with her friends, birding, and spending time with her cat Batman.
