Flyways and Freedom: Advocacy, Action, and the Future
May 30 | FREE admission for all
Join us for Ogden Nature Center’s 2nd annual celebration of Black Birder's Week, a nationally recognized event, organized by Black AF In STEM Collective, providing opportunities for everyone in our community to enjoy birding and the outdoors. This special week invites our community to come together to celebrate nature, learn about birds, and uplift the voices and contributions of Black birders and naturalists.
Ogden Nature Center will culminate the celebration of this week on Saturday, May 30th by offering free admission to all. Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy a bird‑themed craft, explore the trails, and participate in engaging, educational programming designed for all ages.
We’ll be offering two interactive bird programs, each featuring a live bird of prey presentation, immediately followed by a guided bird walk. These experiences provide an up‑close look at birds and an opportunity to sharpen your birding skills alongside knowledgeable staff and volunteers, all while enjoying the beauty of Ogden Nature Center.
Whether you’re a seasoned birder or brand new to birdwatching, this event is a fun, welcoming way to connect with nature while celebrating community and representation in the outdoors.
