VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Come volunteer with our education naturalists to run environmental education programs for visiting school groups.
Join volunteers of all talents to help the Ogden Nature Center host a variety of community events throughout the calendar year.
GROUNDS AND MAINTENANCE APPRENTICE
Work with our grounds and maintenance team to help keep the Ogden Nature Center and its facilities beautiful and running smoothly.
HABITAT RESTORATION TASK FORCE
Get involved in restoration activities including invasive species removal, native seed collection, seeding with native species, and planting and watering trees.
MAILING COMMITTEE AND PUBLICITY DISTRIBUTION
Come assist the Ogden Nature Center in preparing bulk mailings to go out to the community by helping to label, stuff and stamp mailings. Volunteers are also needed to help distribute promotional flyers and posters at various organizations throughout the community.
Join the Ogden Nature Center outreach team in providing education programs to the community through large public events and small classroom settings.
Our resident animals thrive off of consistency. Because of this, it is rare for new volunteer opportunities to open up in our animal care team. We have found it healthiest for our animals when we have the same familiar faces giving the same high level of animal care every week. On occasion, though, volunteer opportunities do open up.
How Do I Become A Volunteer?
All volunteers start by attending an online Volunteer Orientation which will introduce you to the Ogden Nature Center and the many ways you can help. We’ll also find a good fit for your talents, interests, and schedule. Please note that young volunteers must be accompanied by an adult while volunteering on the property.
To complete volunteer orientation online:
- Fill out the Volunteer Application Form
- Review the Volunteer Handbook
- Watch the Volunteer Orientation Video
- Take a short quiz
- After you have completed orientation, you will be sent an invitation to complete a background check. When your background check is clear and paperwork is complete, you will be eligible to volunteer!
