Vanessa Helton
Vanessa's journey began with a bachelor’s degree in arts administration from the University of Kentucky. Her path later pivoted when she embarked on a seven-year career as a longhaul, cross-country semitruck driver. Through her travels, Vanessa developed a profound appreciation for the natural world and honed invaluable professional skills that continue to serve her today.
The rigors of longhaul trucking also instilled in Vanessa a strong work ethic, a high level of responsibility, and proved her ability to adapt. Her ability to navigate complex logistical challenges and maintain composure under high pressure situations is a testament to her experience behind the big wheel.
With a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth, Vanessa is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration at Weber State University. Also an aspiring falconer, Vanessa is collaborating with Nature Center staff to achieve her goal of obtaining a falconry license. In addition to her academic and nature-related pursuits, Vanessa is a skilled photographer and small business owner, capturing the beauty of the natural world through her lens. Her photography serves as a testament to her creativity, attention to details, and connection to the environment.
