About Us
Julia Gaynor
Julia is one of the Ogden Nature Centers new AmeriCorps/UCC individual placements serving her first term, working in both education and animal care. Julia graduated from Washington State University last spring with her bachelor's degree in science with a major in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation and a minor in Biology. She is very passionate about wildlife conservation and community education and loves sharing her knowledge and passion for conservation and the planet with others.
During college, Julia was a Grizzly Bear caretaker and keeper for the 11 Grizzly Bears that lived at her college’s Bear Center. Julia was the secretary for her school’s chapter of The Wildlife Society, Philanthropy Chair of her sorority, camera trap species identification researcher, as well as a teaching assistant for a Field Methods in Wildlife Ecology course at her university.
Julia loves animals, the beach, and traveling, and is an avid hiker who enjoys spending her free time outdoors, being surrounded by nature and animals as much as possible!
