Grounds and Maintenance Apprentice

Work with our grounds and maintenance team to help keep the Ogden Nature Center beautiful and maintain daily operations. You’ll have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of grounds and facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform grounds keeping and building maintenance duties
  • Perform any trail maintenance work including mowing and clipping trees and branches
  • Safely use tools and equipment and return them when you are finished
  • Anyone who has their own chainsaw and experience using it is always a valuable resource to the Nature Center!

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge or desire to learn about painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and grounds
  • Must be able to safely and effectively operate tools and equipment
  • Must pass a background check if over the age of 18
  • Must be dependable and respectful

Support

Volunteers will undergo an orientation and receive a volunteer handbook. In addition, grounds and maintenance volunteers will receive job-specific training with their direct supervisor.
