Event Volunteers

Purpose

The Ogden Nature Center hosts a variety of events throughout the calendar year, from Earth Day to Summer Concerts. This is a huge way we connect with the community and help people engage with nature! Without volunteers, these events would not be possible. This is one of the areas we usually need the most support from volunteers of all talents!

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrive on time to the event and learn the task you will be helping with that day
  • Engage with guests at the event
  • Help with a variety of events including Birdhouse Awards Ceremony, Earth Day, Fly with the Flock 5k, Summer Concerts, Birds-n-Brews, Wildwoods BASH, Creatures of the Night and the Holiday Open House
  • Check on bathrooms/ trash cans when they need some attention

Length of Appointment

Can be one time, or multiple events throughout the year!

Time Commitment

Usually between 2 and 4 hours

Qualifications

  • Willing to engage with visitors and help everyone enjoy the event
  • Respectful of staff, visitors and other volunteers
  • Dependable to come on time, ready to volunteer

Support

Volunteers will undergo an orientation and receive a volunteer handbook. In addition, event volunteers will receive job-specific training with their direct supervisor.
