Purpose
Education program assistants work with our staff teacher/naturalists to run environmental education programs for visiting school groups. As an education program assistant you will help support the Ogden Nature Center’s mission to unite people with nature and nurture appreciation and stewardship of the environment. If you love working with kids and teaching about the natural world, this is the job for you!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist teacher/naturalists during school field trips, preschool and homeschool programs
- Help prepare materials for school programs
- Help with setup and cleanup before and after programs

Length of Appointment
The education program assistant must be able to commit to a period of at least six months.

Qualifications
- Must be over the age of 18
- Must pass a background check
- Prior teaching experience is a plus
- Must be dependable
- Must be willing to learn and have fun!
Support
Volunteers will undergo an orientation and receive a volunteer handbook. In addition, education program assistants will be working closely with teacher/naturalists on staff and the education director for specific training and questions.
