Creature Features

Creature Features

We will come to your classroom in Utah!

Our standards-based Creature Features outreach program is designed to complement what 1st grade teachers are doing in their classrooms. This 1 hour  program focuses on making observations, using the scientific method, investigating differences and similarities between groups and classifying animals. Creature Features combines our successful Birds, Mammals of the Wasatch, and Revealing Reptile programs.

Using a live animal, pelts, mounts, skulls and other animal artifacts, ONC staff will teach similarities and differences between birds, mammals, and reptiles; including but not limited to if they have fur, scales, or feathers,  and their adaptations for survival. Students will be introduced to a dichotomous key and how scientists classify living things.

2018-2019 school year programming is being offered to public and charter schools in the following Utah School Districts: Alpine, Beaver, Cache, Emery, Iron, Logan, Morgan, Park City, Piute, Provo, Rich, Uintah, Wasatch and Wayne school districts.
