Anaxyrus woodhousii

Trevor arrived at the ONC in the spring of 2021. He was found abandoned in an aquarium on the steps of an Ogden business and needed a home. He lives with his friend Delores and enjoys burrowing in his substrate. He hides and waits for crickets to happen by and then snatches them with his tongue for a snack.

Fascinating Facts:

The Woodhouse name comes from Samuel Washington Woodhouse, a surgeon and naturalist who explored the southwestern U.S during the mid-19th century. Woodhouse's toads prefer sandy soils so they can more easily burrow into the ground during the day.
