Pantherophis alleghaniensis
Remy arrived in 2018 as a juvenile. He is a member of the Informal Science Education Enhancement Program. He is a great climber and can be seen climbing on the branches in his enclosure. His bright yellow color makes him very popular visitors.

Truly arboreal, Yellow Rat Snakes will commonly climb up to 60 feet high in trees to reach and devour birds and bird eggs. The Yellow Rat Snake, or chicken snake, is known to feed on domestic fowl (i.e. chickens) and their eggs. This practice is how they came to receive the common name, "chicken snake"
