Buteo swainsoni
Cyrus hatched in 2022 and arrived at the ONC in August of the same year. He spent his rehabilitation time at Great Basin Wildlife and Education in Mapleton, Utah. He was found on the ground with an injured eye. An avian eye specialist determined that his eye could not be saved and it was removed. Cy navigates his enclosure quite well with his one eye and has no problem finding his food when his caretakers hide it to challenge him.
