We know that the nature preserve is a respite for many. At this time Ogden Nature Center trails remain open during our regular hours, but with no access to restrooms.  Ogden Nature Center buildings are closed. Details here!

To our Flock of Friends:

The Ogden Nature Center board and staff have received many supportive and concerned phone calls and emails, and we are humbled by the way you care about our Nature Center. Like many, we are facing hard times with the novel coronavirus pandemic. Because so many people visit the Nature Center for respite, we have opted to keep the gates and trails open to the public for now, but our buildings are closed and we do not have restroom facilities open. The trails are open during our usual hours, 9-5 Monday-Friday and 9-4 on Saturday.  We are asking community members to not bring pets, bikes or scooters, and if you are feeling any sick symptoms, please stay home. On the trails, keep a six-foot distance from other visitors. We welcome you to come get some fresh air and enjoy the quiet peace of our nature preserve.

We will post our popular weekly programs on Facebook –Nests, Nooks and Storybooks on Tuesdays, and Wild Wednesdays, so you and your family can keep learning about science and nature.

This closure and cancelation of programs and events means a considerable loss of income for the Ogden Nature Center during our peak, revenue generating season – income that traditionally carries us through the rest of the year. Many volunteers, friends, community members, and donors have asked how they can help.  Please consider donating to help with emergency support for ONC. To give online please go to

Our most immediate goals are to take care of our resident animals, to preserve and upkeep the grounds and trails, and to keep our dedicated staff employed. We will be here for you when this is past.

We are grateful for your support and kindness, and we look forward to seeing you back at the Ogden Nature Center when these troubling times pass.

With care and gratitude,

Mary McKinley, Executive Director
